What is the Apogee Elite+™ by Cynosure®?

The Apogee Elite+™ by Cynosure contains two laser systems including a 755 nm Alexandrite laser and a high powered 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser. These two lasers offer the most optimal wavelengths for hair removal. This system allows our team to customize treatments to treat a variety of different skin types and hair textures.

This system is designed to treat patients with every skin type and tone, although only dark hair can be treated successfully. ! However, if you have light colored hair, you are not a candidate for laser hair removal. . The best way to determine if this treatment is right for you is through a consultation with one or our skincare professionals. Please discontinue use of retinol products for a few days before the treatment and stay out of the sun for a minimum of 2 weeks before treatment. Avoid self tanners prior to treatment as well and do not tweeze, wax, or perform any hair removal other than shaving for many weeks before doing laser hair removal.

What to Expect?

During your treatment session you will be asked to wear a special pair of goggles to protect your eyes from the laser beam. The hand-held laser will then be pressed gently against your skin, and the light will travel down the dark hair to the root.. You may experience a feeling of heat, though the cooling system should protect your skin from any heat discomfort. 

What are the Results?

Each Apogee Elite+™ session can last from a couple of minutes to a couple of hours, depending on the surface area(s) that you wish to be treated. A minimum of6 treatments are recommended for optimal results, though every patient is different. There is no downtime required following your session, though you may experience temporary pinkness or swelling. It is important to use broad-spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen daily following your treatment to ensure the best results.
