What is the Icon® by Cynosure®?

The Icon® by Cynosure® system treats a wide selection of skin types to combat common signs of aging through skin rejuvenation. This system addresses surgical and acne scarring, stretch marks, lines and wrinkles, spider veins, hyperpigmentation, sun spots, and laser hair removal.

Scarring

Using fractional laser light, his system breaks down scar tissues and triggers collagen production and the growth of new, healthy tissue. Icon® laser treatment is ideal for individuals who do not wish to undergo surgery or more invasive treatments to improve their acne or surgical scars, and can be used on all skin types from very light to very dark to resurface the skin.

Stretch Marks

Pulsed energy is delivered to the skin, targeting stretch marks. This laser stimulates collagen production and promotes smoothness in the treatment area, making stretch marks less noticeable.

Lines, Wrinkles, and Sunspots

The Icon® laser performs skin rejuvenation and resurfacing to improve the appearance such as lines and wrinkles and uneven skin tone and texture. This laser uses energy micro-beams to stimulate the body’s natural healing process, stimulating collagen production and healthy tissue growth. This results in younger-looking, healthier skin in the treated areas.

Spider Veins on Face

Using Optimized Light™ photo-rejuvenation technology, the Icon® system can target spider veins and capillaries for more even, youthful-looking skin.

Laser Hair Removal

The Icon® laser can give you the smooth skin you desire through laser hair removal. The laser targets and destroys dark hair by laser wavelength which targets the melanin in the hair allowing it to destroy the hair follicle without damaging the skin.

Who Can Benefit from the Icon® by Cynosure®?

Healthy individuals who are looking to improve the overall health of their skin or target specific skincare issues can benefit from the Icon® treatment. The best way to determine if this treatment is right for you is through a consultation with one of our skincare professionals. During this appointment, you can review your health history and personal treatment goals.

What to Expect?

During an Icon® by Cynosure® treatment, patients will be asked to wear special eye shields to protect their eyes during treatment. The Icon® handpiece will then be guided over the treatment area by your provider. Many patients describe the laser feeling like a slight rubber-band snap, however, the treatment should not be painful. Treatment can be performed in as little as 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area.

What are the Results?

Following the Icon® treatment, it is common to experience pink skin and/or swelling, which should dissipate within 2-24 hours. We recommend avoiding sun exposure on the treated area, as well as using SPF throughout the course of treatment for the best results.
