What is Thermage®?

Thermage® is a non-invasive radiofrequency (RF) system that helps to smooth, contour, and tighten skin for a younger-looking appearance. The RF energy heats the deep, collagen-rich layers of the skin. This causes contraction within the skin, resulting in skin tightening. Over the next six months, the body’s natural healing response will product more collagen, for continued improvement.

The Thermage® system can be used to tighten skin on the face, including the jawline, eyelids, and around the mouth. It can also be used on the body, including the neck and chest, knees, stomach, and thighs.

What to Expect?

During treatment, your medical technician will use the RF handpiece to target a specific area of the body. This RF energy will increase the temperature of the deeper layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production. Depending on the size and location of the area to be treated, the procedure may take anywhere from 20-90 minutes to complete. Most people need only one treatment session, as results will continue to improve with time. For anti-aging benefits, some patients repeat the treatment in as little as 1-2 years.

What are the Results?

There is no downtime following Thermage®, so regular activities can be resumed immediately after treatment. Temporary skin redness and minor swelling may occur after treatment, but will dissipate within 24 hours. For most people, visible results will appear gradually over the next 2-6 months following a single treatment session. Results can last from 1-2 years, depending on the individual.
