What is Latisse®?

Who Can Benefit from Latisse®?

Adults over the age of 18 who are unhappy with the length of their eyelashes can often benefit from Latisse®. Individuals with genetic causes of paler or thinner lashes or medical conditions that cause hair loss can also benefit from this treatment option.

It is important to note that individuals with a history of severe allergies or those who have eye problems or have had eye surgery may not be the best candidates for this treatment. This treatment is not recommended for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding. How to Use Latisse®

Latisse® should be applied to the upper lash line once per day using a sterile, disposable applicator. Be sure to only apply this product at the base of the upper lashes, and not on the lower lid. This is because it may cause hair to grow outside of the treatment area. Do not reuse the applicators. If you wear contact lenses, it is important that you remove them before using Latisse®, though you can put them back in after about 15 minutes.

Latisse® Results

Patients often see the best results after using Latisse® daily for at least two months. Improvements in your eyelashes will continue as long as the medication is regularly used. If you stop using Latisse®, your lashes will return to their original appearance.

It is rare, but important to know that Latisse® may cause the skin on the eyelids to be sensitive or darken, which may be reversable, or may cause darkening of the colored part of the eye, which is likely permanent.
