What is Skinvive?

Skinvive is the newest injectable from Juvéderm, but it is not a dermal filler. This is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid microdroplet injection designed for intense skin hydration. Hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the body, and it keeps the skin and joints hydrated and flexible by attracting water molecules. Hyaluronic acid levels gradually decrease as we age, leading to dehydrated skin, wrinkles, and rough or crepey skin texture. Skinvive replenishes hyaluronic acid in the surface levels of the skin to hydrate and smooth the skin while rejuvenating a youthful-looking glow. The injected microdroplets of hyaluronic acid are also cross-linked, which helps the skin retain moisture for long-lasting results.

Who Can Benefit from Skinvive?

Almost anyone who wants to improve dull skin tone and dry or rough skin can benefit from Skinvive. However, patients who have allergies to lidocaine and other dermal fillers or those with a history of bleeding disorders and scarring should not receive Skinvive injections.

What to Expect from Skinvive Procedures

Before any cosmetic treatment, you will first consult with our team to make sure Skinvive is the right treatment for you. Next, a customized treatment plan will be created based on your unique skin needs and concerns.

Skinvive treatment is quick and minimally painful. Your provider will make several injections into the superficial layer of the skin using a fine needle. Skinvive is typically used in the cheeks, but can also be used to treat dehydrated skin on the decolletage or hands.

Results and Recovery from Skinvive

There is virtually no downtime or recovery after Skinvive treatments. Mild swelling and bruising are common but will subside within a few days. We recommend that patients avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours after treatment to limit swelling.

Smoother, glowing skin can be seen after a few days with continuing improvements over a few weeks. Most patients will see significant results after one treatment, but a series of Skinvive injections can be scheduled over the course of 2-4 weeks. Optimal results will be seen as early as 1-2 months and results will last about 6 months.
