What is QWO?

QWO is an FDA-approved injectable formula that works to combat moderate to severe cellulite on the upper thighs and butt for people who want smoother skin all year round.

How Does It Work?

QWO works by breaking down the fibrous strands of tissue that pinch the outer surface of the skin and create regions of slightly bulging or dimpled fat deposits to appear as cellulite. The result is skin that appears firmer, tighter, and smoother after a full treatment plan.

The procedure itself is extremely simple, and only takes about 10 minutes per injection session. All you have to do is show up, receive a few needle pricks in the desired area, and go about the rest of your day.

Who is an Ideal Candidate?

QWO is for all skin types. Nearly everyone will experience cellulite at some point in their lives, no matter how much they exercise, eat well, and maintain a healthy weight. This is due to cellulite being caused by a variety of factors, including weight gain, skin thinning, aging, and numerous genetic reasons that fibrous bands under the skin become more prominent.

Good candidates for QWO are people who have dimples or cellulite on their buttocks and who haven’t found success with other non-invasive cellulite treatments. People should be generally healthy and not allergic to any of the active or inactive ingredients in QWO.

Recovery

The procedure is non-invasive and is done in our office. Depending on your skin type, there may be some redness, itchiness, or bruising after the procedure. These symptoms typically last less than 24 hours.

QWO takes time to work to redistribute fat, stimulate collagen production, and dissolve fibrous bands within the skin. Most patients see their best results about 10 weeks after their final injection treatment. QWO results last up to a year before needing a touchup, although in some cases, the benefits last even longer.

Potential Risks

1. Tingling sensation

During the procedure, you may experience a mild stinging or tingling sensation. It is normal and results from the enzymes in the formula getting to work.

2. Swelling

Swelling can occur after treatments as collagen forms to rejuvenate, tighten and smooth out your skin. If swelling occurs, it will be temporary and lessen as the formula disseminates throughout the skin.

3. Bruising

Bruising is a common side effect of injectable treatments like QWO, but should not last longer than a few weeks of noticeable discoloration or discomfort. Because QWO works by affecting multiple skin structures, bruising may be worse than a dermal filler treatment that physically adds volume to treated areas. Let our team of experts know if any bruising lasts for longer than a week or is prohibitively painful.
